Whether you’re looking for a family holiday or a teenage fun and sun drinking holiday Mallorca, or Majorca as it used to be known as is alway a firm favourite destination.
Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands and has something for everyone, and is large enough that different typres of holidaymakers can do their own thing without disturbing each other, for the most part anyway.
Like it’s balearic cousin Ibiza, Mallorca is frequented by the super rich, many of whom maintain holiday homes there in the more exclusive areas, or rent luxury Mallorca villas up in the mountains or with stunning seaviews, but the more usual tourists of course tend to frequent the resorts and stay in hotels.
Some of the more popular areas are Maggaluf or Santa Ponsa for parties and late nights this is probably the place to go, while families tend to frequent less busy and noisy areas such as Palma Nova and Alcudia.
A popular option to save money is to get a self catering apartment instead of a hotel as these are often cheaper but you do have to factor in the extra cost of food for the week in your calculations.
