How To Lose Weight With Running

Most of us want to know how to run and lose weight; however, the health benefits of running is far greater than just losing weight! Indeed, the health benefits of running could likely fill an entire book.

Running is an exercise one can do alone, with friends, outdoors or indoors, virtually any time of day, and it tends to be something people either love or dread. Even people who  hated the idea of running, now like it. This is because once you get started with running and understand the many benefits, it becomes something very enjoyable.

So how do we run and lose weight? Lets first start out with a few guidelines for running.

Some Running Basics:

1.  Start your running workout with some stretches. You will want to stretch your leg and calf muscles out fully. This will help with flexibility and prevent you from straining or injuring your muscles.

2) Start slow, then build up. That way, your body will have time to adjust to the exertion. After a few minutes you can start to speed up a bit (or slow down eve more depending on your fitness!).

3.  Once you have completed your warm up, increase your speed to a jogging speed. Keeping in mind that this is the speed that you will be dropping back to after your run. So make sure you can maintain it nicely without too much effort.

4) After you have jogged for a little bit it is time to run. It is at this speed that you will maximize your ability to burn fat. If you are on a treadmill, you may want to increase the incline at this point, this will greatly increase your body’s ability to burn fat.

5. Switch back and forth between a moderate jog and a faster run. Thirty to Forty Five minutes will be plenty for beginners and some novices, while seasoned runners may want to increase the time to an hour  or hour and a half.

Mixing your running between fast and steady is what is called HIIT, or High Intensity Interval Training. Using HIIT allows your body to burn fat at its very fastest.

What makes running a great way to lose weight?

The first and biggest health benefit is that you will burn a more calories, than walking or sitting on the couch. Research has concluded that running is one of the best methods you can use to burn calories.

If you also start eating a healthier diet while running 3 days a week, you will certainly lose weight, without a shadow of a doubt.
Secondly, you are exercising your heart, hands, legs and your lungs. With your lungs being exercise you are able to breathe deeper. By processing more oxygen, your body will become a more effective fat burner.

Lastly, you will achieve a decrease in blood pressure, an increase in circulation, and will experience greater relaxation.

Given that you are now familiar with the best way to run and lose weight all at once, are you willing to finally get going and shed all of your unwanted fat?
